Shipping Rules UI Lesson 5: Use cases
Introduction
The Shipping Rules price features let you set and show delivery prices based on certain criteria. This can be really helpful with Ship Advisor, as it allows you to display prices according to your established rules or to adjust price calculations during special campaigns. In this article, you will find guidance on how to activate and add prices, using Service Levels as examples, although you can also add prices to Select Rules.
Activating and adding simple prices
Use the simple price feature when you only need to set one price per product. Prices are added to a Shipping Rules file, so you must start by creating a new file or editing an existing file. For a tutorial on how to create a new file, click here.
- Go to Drafts, click on the three-dot menu next to the file you want to work with, and choose Edit.
- Check Set freight price (simple - one per product) under Additional Options and click Next.
- The Service Levels tab will open, ready to create a service level. Enter a name and select the products you want to use, and click Create.
- Click the arrow to the left of the name. Fill in the price and currency that should apply for this product.
- Fill in goodstype and services if needed, and add any conditions you want. You can learn more about creating Service Levels and Select Rules in the dedicated lessons.
- Click Save when you are done with the configuration.
Activating and adding prices with conditions
Use the advanced price feature if you need to set up multiple prices per product or special conditions.
- Go to Drafts, click on the three-dot menu next to the file that you want to work with, and choose Edit.
- Check Set freight price (advanced - with conditions) under Additional Options and click Next.
- The Service Level tab will open, ready to create a service level. Enter a name, select the products you want to use, and click Create.
- Click on the Price tab and click New to create a Price group.
- Enter a name and click Create.
- Click New to add a price and select the conditions you want to apply, if any. You can add multiple prices to a price group. In the example below, two prices with the conditions Receiver country and Order value have been added.
- Click Save when you are done adding the prices.
- Go back to the Service Levels tab and click on the product you created in step 3.
- Select the appropriate price group. The list will contain any price groups you created under the Price tab.
- Click Save.
