nShift offers an on-demand insurance service in nShift Ship (former Consignor). The insurance cover is made per shipment, and it is a service that you can use whenever you need it, regardless of carrier and the destination of your package.
The insurance service allows you to easily insure all sorts of consignments. The insurance coverage is global and applicable no matter where you send your package. Any claim is stated directly in Portal and the compensation will be transferred to your account within a few days.

How to use the insurance service in On-premises
Follow these steps to make a shipment with insurance:
- In On-premises, go to Main > Production to create a new shipment and fill in the shipment information.
- Below the Goods information, you will find an If Insurance box. Fill in Amount, Contents and Email. The premium is automatically calculated based on the amount.
- If you need to change the currency, this is done by clicking on the currency type and then selecting another currency from the list that pops up. Click Ok to save.
- When you click the Print button to submit the shipment, you will be asked to confirm your insurance. Click OK to proceed and print the label. Please note that once you have accepted the terms, the insurance cannot be canceled.
- After the label has been printed, you will receive a certificate of insurance on the email address you entered.
How to use the insurance service in Ticket
Follow these steps to make a shipment with insurance:
- In Ticket, go to New Bookings > New to create a new shipment and fill in the shipment information.
- Click on the If Insurance tab.
- Fill in Amount, Contents and Email and select the correct currency. The premium is automatically calculated based on the insurance amount. In this example, it is 5 euro.
- When you click the Print button to submit the shipment, you will be asked to accept the insurance terms. Click Yes to proceed and print the label. Please note that once you have accepted the terms, the insurance cannot be canceled.
- After the label has been printed, you will receive a certificate of insurance on the email address you entered.
Reporting damage and claiming the insurance
Follow these steps if your shipment was damaged or lost and you need insurance:
- Log in to Portal and find the shipment. You can search using the shipment or package number.
- Open the shipment and click the Insurance Claim link at the top right corner.
- Fill in the insurance claim form.
- The compensation will be transferred to your account within a few days.
Insurance premium
The insurance premium depends on the value of the shipment and its destination. The exact insurance premium will always show in Portal prior to booking.
