The requirements vary from carrier to carrier but after Brexit you will most likely need to add customs details and attributes to your shipments when sending from the EU to GB or from GB to the EU. This article will explain how to add details and set up attributes.
To get the latest changes, you must update if you have received a message in the app saying that there is an update available.
Enabling details
- Go to nShift > Shipping Profiles. Make sure the status is set to Enabled.
- Click the Details link next to the Shipping profile that you want to add details to.
- Enable the details fields needed for the shipping profile. This is done by setting the drop down menu in the Status column to Enable.
- Fill in the fields. If you type in a value in curly brackets, the plugin will use the corresponding value from attributes on the Product in the order. Values not placed in curly brackets are used as default values. (Note: If there is a value within curly brackets but no corresponding attribute on the product it will be displayed in the Shipping Wizard but not sent to nShift Ship).
- Click the Save Details button.
Setting up Product Attributes
- Go to Products > All products and click on a product to edit it.
- Scroll down to Product data and click Attributes.
- Click Add to add a new Custom product attribute and fill in the Name and Value. The name of the attribute must be identical to the text entered in Details in the nShift plugin without the curly brackets. See the example below.
- Name in nShift Ship Details setup: {CountryOfOrigin}
- Name of Attribute in Products: CountryOfOrigin - Add or edit as many attributes as you need and click Save attributes.
