This article will walk you through the different options available in the Settings tab in Ship.
When you go to Portal > Ship > Configuration > Settings, you will see a page with the following sections:
Printing options
The Printing Options are only used together with Drop Zone when you want to make manual prints. Drop Zone is our application that enables file-drop integration and auto print with Ship. (Read more about Drop Zone here).
The Service URL field will be set to localhost on the same port chosen in DropZone > Settings > Communication port for manual print. In the above example, the Service URL is set to
http://127.0.0.1:8089. Click Search to establish a connection to Drop Zone. Port 8089 needs to be open; otherwise, a connection between Drop Zone and Ship will not be made. If the connection is successful, you will see a green label with the Drop Zone version, and the options in the Label Printer type drop-down menu will correspond to those added in Drop Zone.
You may change the printer's top or left offset and configure whether you want Portrait or Landscape page orientation.
New Booking
The options in the New Booking section allow you to set how Ship should handle shipments when working with new or updated contacts.
Display units
This section allows you to configure the units you want to be displayed for weight, length, and volume in your Ship.
Dates
Configure which time zone should be used for the dates displayed in your Ship. If nothing else is selected, the time zone of the server will be used.
