SENT (System for Electronic Transport Supervision) is a monitoring system operated by the Polish National Revenue Administration. It is used to supervise the transport of certain goods by road and rail to support compliance with tax and customs regulations.
Through the SENT system, authorities monitor the movement of selected goods:
- Within Poland (transport starting and ending in Poland)
- From Poland to another country
- Into Poland from another country
- Transit transport where goods move through Poland but start and end outside the country
Companies involved in transporting goods covered by SENT, including shippers, receivers, carriers, and drivers, may be required to:
- Register the transport in the electronic SENT register
- Keep the information updated during transport
-
Ensure the vehicle is equipped with a device transmitting geolocation data
Upcoming regulatory changes from 17 March 2026
Effective 17 March 2026, the scope of the SENT system will expand to include certain clothing, textile, and footwear products transported within Poland.
The following goods will require SENT reporting when transported within Poland:
- Knitted clothing and textile accessories (CN Chapter 61) over 10 kg
- Non-knitted clothing and accessories (CN Chapter 62) over 10 kg
- Used clothing and similar items (CN 6309 00 00) over 10 kg
- Footwear (CN Chapter 64, excluding parts) when more than 20 items are shipped
- Mixed consignments of the above goods exceeding applicable thresholds
These obligations may apply to imports, exports, domestic movements, and transit shipments involving Poland.
What this means for nShift customers
Regulatory requirements such as SENT are managed by the parties involved in the transport process, which may include the shipper, consignee, carrier, and driver.
nShift is currently reaching out to carriers to understand whether the updated SENT requirements will require any changes to existing integrations or shipment workflows.
This review includes whether carriers may need:
- Additional shipment information
- Changes to booking or label workflows
- Integration updates to support carrier-specific handling of SENT-covered goods
Next steps
At this stage, no action is required unless otherwise communicated by your carrier or nShift.
We will share further updates in the Help Center if any integration changes or new requirements are introduced as a result of the updated SENT regulations. Please follow this article to stay informed.
