nShift offers an on-demand insurance service in nShift Ship. The insurance cover is made per shipment, and it is a service that you can use whenever you need it, regardless of the carrier and the destination of your package.

The insurance service allows you to easily insure all sorts of consignments. The insurance coverage is global and applicable no matter where you send your package. Any claim is stated directly in nShift Portal, and the compensation will be transferred to your account within a few days.

Using the insurance service

Follow these steps to make a shipment with insurance:

1. Log in to nShift Portal and go to Ship > New to create a new shipment and fill in the shipment information.
   
   
2. Click on If Insurance in the Additional Info section.
   
   
3. Fill in Amount, Contents, and Email, and select the correct currency. The premium is automatically calculated based on the insurance amount. In this example, it is 8 euro.
   
   
   
   
4. You will be asked to accept the insurance terms when you click the Print button to submit the shipment. Click Yes to proceed and print the label. Please note that once you have accepted the terms, the insurance cannot be canceled.
   
   
   
   
5. After the label has been printed, you will receive a certificate of insurance at the email address you entered.

Reporting damage and claiming the insurance

Follow these steps if your shipment was damaged or lost and you need insurance:

1. Log in to nShift Portal, go to Track, and find the shipment. You can search using the shipment or package number.
   
   
2. Open the shipment and click the Claim Insurance link in the top right corner.
   
   
3. Fill in the insurance claim form.
   
   
4. The compensation will be transferred to your account within a few days.

Insurance premium

The insurance premium depends on the value of the shipment and its destination. The exact insurance premium will always show in nShift Portal before booking.
