Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 will no longer be supported by nShift products by October 10th, 2023. The change will occur gradually, starting mid-September, per product, according to the schedule below. Please make the necessary checks and updates in due time to avoid unnecessary downtime.
Depending on the product type, the minimum requirements explained below must be met so that no changes will be required on the customer side to support TLS 1.2. If the requirements are not met, please refer to the more in-depth technical article here.
The minimum requirements for TLS 1.2 are split into four categories:
1. Web applications
- Windows 8.1 or newer OS.
- Modern (up-to-date) web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11, Edge, etc.)
2. Mobile applications
- Android 5.0 or higher, iPhone OS version 5 and above and Windows Phone 8.1 or above.
- Mobile Safari versions 5 and higher for iOS 5 and higher, mobile IE version 11.
3. Web Services
- Windows 8.1 or newer for desktops, Windows Server 2016 or higher for servers.
- Web Services client with support for TLS 1.2. An update for a commercial product should solve this compatibility;
- We have prepared a sample call to one of our web services supporting only TLS 1.2 if you need to test your client. Details can be found here.
4. On-premises products (Ship On-premises)
- Windows 8.1 or newer for desktops, Windows Server 2016 or higher for servers.
- Ship On-premises version 17.x.x.x or higher.
- SQL Server 2016 or newer.
If the minimum requirements are not met, you will need to either make some manual changes to your software (see the technical article here) or update to a newer version supporting TLS 1.2.
