Introduction
There are various settings you can make in nShift Delivery. For example, you can create shortcuts in the GUI and define preset senders, receivers, and other shipment-specific data.
Settings exist on three levels in a hierarchical order.
- Account
- Profile group
- Profile
- Profile group
Note that all levels are not available on all accounts, since Profile Management is an nShift add-on.
Account
The account does not represent an individual. It is the account for a company or an organization, with a user ID that should be used by all users. The user ID is a 10-digit combination.
Change settings
- Go to Maintenance > My account.
- Click Settings.
- Click Change in the section where you want to make the changes.
The settings are inherited by all profile groups and profiles as the account is at the highest level.
Change contact information
- Go to Maintenance > My account.
- Click Change address.
- Enter your name and email address in the Buyer section and make the changes.
- Click Order.
It is highly important that the contact information is up to date, for nShift to give you the best possible service.
Change personal data storage time
- Go to Maintenance > My account.
- Click Integrity settings.
- Select anonymization time in the Automatic anonymization section.
By default personal data in your shipment history will be removed after five (5) years.
Change administrator login permission

- Click Integrity settings.
- Uncheck the Allow administrator login box to prevent support staff from logging in to your account.
Profile group
A profile group governs what information is available for profiles belonging to the profile group, such as senders, receivers and shipment history that is stored in its own profile group.
Profile groups do not have access to each other’s information, except for the information stored in the default profile group.
Change settings
- Go to Maintenance > Profile group.
- Click Search.
- Click the view icon next to the profile group where you want to make the changes.
- Click Settings.
- Click Change in the section where you want to change the settings.
The settings are valid for all profiles assigned to the profile group. Initially, settings are inherited from the account but can be overridden by clicking , provided that the user making changes has a role with the necessary permission.
Profile
Profiles are best described as different functions within a company, represented by one or several users.
Each profile is assigned a profile ID and a password that together with the user ID are used for logging in to nShift Delivery. The profile ID must be unique.
Each profile belongs to one profile group and can be assigned one or several roles.
Change settings
- Go to Maintenance > Profiles.
- Click Search.
- Click the view icon next to the profile where you want to make the changes.
- Click Settings.
- Click Change in the section where you want to change the settings.
The settings are valid for that specific profile only. Initially, settings are inherited from the account or profile group, depending on whether the account settings have been overridden on profile group level. The settings can be overridden by clicking , provided that the user making changes has a role with the necessary permission.
Important: If you have access to the Settings menu and make changes there, they are only valid for the profile that is currently logged in, that is, the result is the same as navigating to Maintenance > Profiles, looking up your current profile, and making changes.
