Activating map view in Checkout for Shopify Plus customers

Map view lets customers choose a pick-up or drop-off point on an interactive map or through a list instead of seeing delivery options as a standard rate list. This feature requires Shopify Plus. Shopify restricts the underlying checkout customization needed for map view to Plus stores, so it isn't available on other Shopify plans.

Before map view can be used at checkout, two things need to be set up: the pick-up point block must be added in Shopify, and map view must be enabled on the connection in nShift Checkout. It is important that these two steps are performed.
 

Step 1: Add the pick-up point block in Shopify

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout.

2. Under Configurations click on Edit to open the checkout editor.

   
   
    

3. Once you are redirected to the Configuration page, access the Apps section
4. Under Apps, add the PUDO Map Picker block to Checkout
   
   
    
5. Once the PUDO Map Picker is selected, you are able to configure it's behavior

On the dedicated Checkout behavior section, toggle on the 'Allow app to block checkout' option


 

1. Save your changes.

   Once this block is placed, checkout will be blocked until the customer confirms a pick-up point — they won't be able to pay without choosing one.
    

Step 2: Enable map view in nShift Checkout

1. 1. In the nShift Checkout UI, go to Shopify in the top menu to reach the Connections page.
   2. Select the connection used for your Shopify store.
   3. Tick Enable map view in checkout (Shopify Plus required).
   4. Save your changes.

    

What changes for your customers

With map view enabled, delivery methods are grouped together, and customers select a pick-up or drop-off point from an interactive map using the points provided by nShift, with a list view available as another presentation mode.

Switching back

You can switch back to the standard rate list at any time by unticking Enable map view in checkout on the connection. Existing orders are not affected.

When switching back, you also need to remove the PUDO Map Picker block from the Shopify's checkout configuration by performing the following steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout.
2. Under Configurations click on Edit to open the checkout editor
3. Once you are redirected to the Configuration page, under the Main section, you will be able to find the PUDO Map Picker option
4. Click on PUDO Map Picker
5. Click on Remove block
6. Save the changes.
