Calculation Methodology
The Standard Emissions Factors used in Emissions Tracker are modeled data sets developed by NTM for calculating GHG emissions within the transport chain. These factors provide a reliable way to calculate emissions even when primary carrier data isn't available.
In alignment with ISO 14083 standards, which prioritize primary data when possible and modeled data over default values when primary data is unavailable, nShift's Standard Emission Factors delivers more accurate emissions estimates than basic default values.
The emission factors are regularly updated by NTM, ensuring your reporting remains current with industry best practices and evolving environmental standards.
