In 2024, UPS introduced a new way to verify API users by switching to OAuth 2.0. This change replaced the older system that relied on access keys to authenticate users and is a more secure method. Along with this, UPS has transitioned to a modern REST API, which requires customers using UPS services to update their integrations to align with the new standards.
In nShift Delivery, we have added the following revised services to support the new API and authentication method:
- UPS Expedited revised
- UPS Express Plus revised
- UPS Express revised
- UPS Express Saver revised
- UPS Ground revised
- UPS Standard revised
- UPS World Wide Economy DDP revised
- UPS World Wide Economy DDU revised

What has changed with the revised services?
Here is an overview of the most important changes:
- UPS book numbers and UPS manifests are no longer needed and the old UPS certification process has become obsolete.
- Using the revised services requires using the authentication method OAuth 2.0, read our guide: UPS authentication
- The revised services only support paperless invoices, not commercial invoices (printed).
- UPS has updated its additional services and you will find that the selection of additional services is different for the revised services compared to the old services. For a complete overview of the supported addons, please go to Help > Codelists and show the list of Services.
