In the Print UI, you create printer profiles. These profiles let you configure settings based on the types of printers you use and the documents you print, making it easy to reuse and apply the appropriate configurations.

A printer profile is assigned to a printer profile group, and each printer profile group can contain a maximum of four (4) printer profiles.

Create a printer profile

1. Log into Print by nShift (https://print.nshiftportal.com/login)
   
   
2. Go to Printer profiles.
   
   
3. Click Add new profile. 
   
   
4. Enter a name in the Profile name field.
   
   
5. Activate the printer profile to make it effective immediately upon saving. You can activate or deactivate a printer profile at any time.
   
   
   
   
   
6. Select one of the detected printers from the installation.
   
   
7. Select a format, either PDF or ZPL.
   
   
8. Select the appropriate media, i.e. printer type.
   
   Optional settings
   
   
9. Adjust the OffsetX and OffsetY values if needed (valid range: -100 to 100).
   
   
10. If you are using a custom layout, specify the name in the Layouts field.
    
    
    
    Connect the printer profile to a printer profile group.
    
    
11. Select an existing profile group or type the name of a new one, e.g. "Test", in the Group field, then click Add Test. 
    
    
    
    Optional settings
    
    
12. Select a value for one or all of the following Printer options:
    • bins - Printer trays holding different paper types or sizes
    • collate - Multi-page documents in sequence (e.g., pages 1-5 for each set) or not
    • color - Full-color printing or black and white
    • duplex - Single-sided or double-sided printing
    • nup - Number of pages printed per sheet
      
      
      
      
13. Once you have configured all your settings, you can save the printer profile.  Click Save

View printer profile details

1. Log into Print by nShift.
   
   
2. Go to Printer profiles.
   
   
3. Click anywhere on the printer profile row to see more details.
   
   
   
   
4. Click Edit or Delete to take action on the profile.
   
   

Edit a printer profile

1. Log into Print by nShift.
   
   
2. Go to Printer profiles.
   
   
3. Click the kebab icon next to the right of the profile you want to edit.
   
   
4. Select Edit.
   
   
   
   
5. Apply the necessary changes.
   
   
6. Click Save.

Tip: You can edit a printer directly from the details view.

Delete a printer profile

1. Log into Print by nShift.
   
   
2. Go to Printer profiles.
   
   
3. Click the kebab icon next to the right of the profile you want to delete.
   
   
4. Select Delete.
   
   
   
   
5. Confirm deletion.

Tip: You can delete a printer profile directly from the details view.
