Sometimes carrier systems may experience outages or become temporarily unavailable. In these situations, it is essential to have a fallback solution integrated into your checkout process. This ensures that your customers can continue to complete their purchases even if the carrier services are down, avoiding disruptions and maintaining a seamless shopping experience.
In nShift Checkout, you can choose whether a Delivery option should be shown as a fallback. If the Fallback toggle button is active, the delivery option will be shown as a fallback, even if the carrier service is down. It is recommended to have at least one fallback option. Please note that a fallback option will not be shown if it is not available in the receiver country, so it is a good idea to choose fallback options that are available in all the countries you are shipping to.
When fallback options are needed, they will be included even if they are not active. This means you can configure a delivery option to only appear as a fallback by marking it as a fallback and setting it as inactive in the checkout configuration. If a delivery option is marked as a fallback and active, it will be processed and returned like any other delivery option under normal conditions.
If a delivery option is set to Always hidden, it will not be returned even if it is marked as Fallback
