All businesses in the EU and the EEA must conform to the EU's Data Protection Regulation.
The regulation requires that roles be determined:
Who owns the data, and who processes the data?
Data created on the Ship Platform in relation to shipment generation always belongs to our clients – not nShift. Role determination is straightforward: as data owner, it is your responsibility to decide for how long, and where, to store your data. It is the responsibility of nShift to safeguard the data you store with us.
At nShift we have invested substantial sums in making this simple for you. If you want to store your data yourself, you can export and delete them from Portal at any time. If, as more than 95 % of our customers, you still want to store your data with nShift, then we will store it in conformity with strict security requirements that conform to the EU Directive. All stored data is available to you on fast servers, and in a matter of seconds, you can search through shipments and statistics from many years back. All data is backed up on an ongoing basis, and we do everything to avoid your data falling into the wrong hands.
Terms and conditions:
The Terms and conditions including the Data Protection agreement clarify our obligations to you as a client, including our obligations in relation to data storage.
Should I do anything else in this context?
No. If you don’t do anything, we will be sure to store your data securely in our environment. We store the current and preceding years at no cost. We bill later years together with our subscription invoicing.
What are the benefits of storing my data in nShift?
In Portal, we will continue to develop tools for analyzing the data you keep. The purpose of this is to give you a good insight into your shipment patterns while securing your transaction data in order to conform to the Accounting Act.
How do I manage my data in nShift?
We have made it easy for you to manage your data directly in Portal.
